NIGERIAN SENATOR SHOT DEAD IN PLATEAU STATE

Senator Datong Dalyop of the PDP representing Plateau north federal constituency was shot dead by unidentified gunmen while attending the burial of the victims of Saturday's violence between Fulani herdsmen and Birom tribesmen. Hon Gyang Fulani, the majority leader and chief whip of the Plateau state house of assembly was also killed. Hon Simon Mwadkwon was critically injured in the attack. Senator Dalyop was until his death the chairman senate committee on health.
