The Federal Government recalled Miss Arunma Oteh, the former Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) after being sent on compulsory leave by the board of the commission.
The board sent Miss Oteh on compulsory leave to enable the external auditors investigate the records of the transactions for project 50 which the former DG supervised.
The Special adviser to the president on media and publicity Reuben Abati said the Federal government had studied the report by the auditors and noted that Miss Oteh was not indicted for fraud nor criminal breach in any form.
The staff of the commission staged a demonstration at the entrance of the SEC headquarters in Abuja in protest of the Director General's recall.
Miss Oteh is yet to resume office.
