MARIAH CAREY IS NEW AMERICAN IDOL JUDGE

Mariah will be joining American idol as a judge for the forthcoming season. Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly confirmed that Jennifer Lopez was leaving and Mariah was coming on board for the next season.

The show's ratings dropped last season so it's hoped that Mariah will inject a dose of freshness to improve ratings.
