OPENING CEREMONY OF THE LONDON OLYMPICS AIRING TONIGHT

Sydney showed the world the wonders of water, passing the Olympic torch through water without the fire going out, Athens was a return to the birth place of the Olympics with beautiful references to history, art and mythicism while China gave the world the greatest show on earth, spending a staggering $100 million on the opening ceremony, amazing the world with science by holding the rain on the day of the opening ceremony. Now it's London's turn and they have the herculean task of trying to impress the world after the ''out of this world'' Beijing 2008. The world-wide broadcast of the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics will be airing at 9pm this night. The show titled the ''isles of wonder'' will kick off with the sound of the largest harmonically tuned bell in Europe with the Stadium magically transformed into the British countryside for the opening scene ''green and pleasant'' which would involve real farm animals. The ceremony will also include a special sequence celebrating the best of British, featuring volunteer performers from the National health service.
Danny Boyle, the artistic director of the London 2012 Olympic opening ceremony said '' our isles of wonder salutes and celebrates the exuberant creativity of the British genius in an opening ceremony that we hope will be as unpredictable and inventive as the British people''
