THE WORLD'S FIRST HEARTLESS MAN

Craig Lewis sleeps, breathes, eats without a heart! The 55 yr old was dying from Cardiac Amyloidosis, a heart condition where there is a build-up of abnormal proteins which clog the organ till it stops working.
Drs Billy Cohn and Bud Frazier of the Texas Heart Institute devised a continous flow device which  that replaced Craigs heart and allowed blood to circulate in his body without a heart beat or pulse!
The device had been developed by the doctors and had been tested on  about 50 calves. It helped to circulate blood in their bodies and enabled them resume normal activities like eating, grazing, moving about and sleeping, without a heart.
