TURAI VERSUS PATIENCE - OUT OF COURT SETTLEMENT FAILS

The two first ladies were squabbling over a choice plot of land situated at Cadastral zone in the FCT and to save the Country further embarrassment
they were to settle the dispute out of court. Following the resolve to settle, the court adjourned the matter at the request of the counsel to the Attorney general of the federation, Baba Said'u to allow
the two women to reach an amicable resolution.
Former First lady Turai Yar'adua was given an alternative plot along airport road in the Wawa district measuring 2.2 hectares in place of her original plot which meausured 5333 square metres and was located in the Central area of Abuja. The offer was refused  through the Legal representative of her NGO, women and youth empowerment foundation citing the reason for the refusal being that the plot offered her was in an unapproved layout of the city.

Pay-back is a pain, this must be Patience's way of getting back for all the nastiness Hajia Turai sent her way while she was the Head girl in charge.

PATIENCE JONATHAN ASKS FOR OFFICE OF FIRST LADY TO BE RECOGNISED IN THE CONSTITUTION

The First lady, Mrs Patience Jonathan has campaigned for the inclusion of the role of first ladies in the Nigerian constitution to enable them get retirement benefits along with their husbands when they retire.
Dame Patience who arrived two hours late for her swearing in ceremony as a permanent secretary in the Bayelsa state civil service made the suggestion in a chat with journalists shortly after the event.
Mrs Jonathan painfully recalled a situation when Governor Fashola of Lagos prevailed on the President to call her to order because the role of the First lady was not in the constitution.
The First lady tasked the Constitution Amendment committee to look into the issue with a view to including it in the next constitution.

SCRAP OFFICE OF THE FIRST LADY!

The presidential committee on the review of outstanding issues headed by former Chief Justice of Nigeria Alfa Belgore has recommended that the office of the first lady should be scrapped. The committee reasoned that since the office was not recognized by the Nigerian constitution, why should it exist?
The office of the first lady though not recognised by law, has always been a platform for the incumbent first lady to display her sense of style and jewellery to an impoverished citizenry. It also functions as a means for whoever is occupying the position to reap financial benefits from political jobbers seeking favour from the president.
Another excellent reason for scrapping the office will be to save Nigerians from Patience and her verbal gunshots!!!
