PATIENCE JONATHAN RE-ELECTED AS PRESIDENT OF AFRICAN FIRST LADIES PEACE MISSION

Nigeria's First lady, Dame Patience Jonathan has been re-elected as the President of The African First Ladies Peace Mission (AFLPM). Mrs Jonathan was unanimously re-elected alongside all other regional heads of the organisation.
Dame Patience is expected to oversee the affairs of the mission in West Africa. In her acceptance speech the First lady thanked all the members of the mission for the confidence reposed in her and members of her team. She said ''it is a great honour for me and our country Nigeria,. This new mandate would strengthen our resolve to laying a solid foundation for our great organisation.''
''....let me appeal to you my dear sisters that all of us owe our spouses support in ensuring that peace, security and total development is achieved in Africa''.

JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA SWORN IN AS GHANA'S NEW PRESIDENT

The new President is 53 years old and was born to a privileged family in Bole Bamboi in Northern Ghana. He has degrees in History and Communications. He will chart the country's course as an oil producing nation for the next few months till elections are held
