''YOU ARE ALLOWED TO STEAL, IF YOU WORK HARD'' - INDIAN MINISTER, SHIVPAL SINGH YADAV

The Minister in charge of housing and construction in Northern Uttar Pradesh state Shivpal Singh Yadav was caught on Television at a public gathering endorsing civil servants embezzling government funds as long as they worked and didn't steal too much. ''if you work hard and put your heart and soul into it, then you are allowed to steal some'', ''but don't be a bandit''

At a press conference he called to explain his statement, the Minister who was unaware there were journalists at the event where he endorsed stealing public funds had this to say in his defense -

''in that event, the media was not allowed in, i don't know how they sneaked in'' he went on to add ''i have taken back those words, why are you raking it up'' he then went on in bewilderment ''i don't know why the media is targeting me''
