BOKO HARAM IN PEACE TALKS WITH GOVERNMENT?

According to the voice of America, a spokesperson for the militant Islamic group, Boko Haram, Habu Mohammed claims that the sect is engaged in talks with the government in a bid to end the violence inflicted in the northern part of Nigeria.
In a statement obtained by the VOA Habu Mohammed who claims to be a deputy to Boko Haram leader Sheikh Abubakar Shekau says the militant group decided to initiate the discussion in response to numerous appeals for peace in the country. The sataement was given to the VOA in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The Nigerian government has not officially confirmed whether or not it is in peace talks with the group.
Boko Haram has been responsible for a slew of deadly attacks in Northern Nigeria including the bombing of the U.N building in Abuja.
