AFRICAN FIRST LADIES PEACE MISSION SECRETARIAT TO COST 8 BILLION NAIRA
The permanent site for the secretariat of the proposed African first ladies peace mission secretariat in Abuja would cost N8 billion to build and another N88.5 million to maintain for a two year period from 2012 to 2014. AFLPM was established in 1995 after the UN conference on women for the objective of promoting peace and harmony in Africa as it's main objective.

PATIENCE JONATHAN RE-ELECTED AS PRESIDENT OF AFRICAN FIRST LADIES PEACE MISSION
Nigeria's First lady, Dame Patience Jonathan has been re-elected as the President of The African First Ladies Peace Mission (AFLPM). Mrs Jonathan was unanimously re-elected alongside all other regional heads of the organisation.
Dame Patience is expected to oversee the affairs of the mission in West Africa. In her acceptance speech the First lady thanked all the members of the mission for the confidence reposed in her and members of her team. She said ''it is a great honour for me and our country Nigeria,. This new mandate would strengthen our resolve to laying a solid foundation for our great organisation.''
''....let me appeal to you my dear sisters that all of us owe our spouses support in ensuring that peace, security and total development is achieved in Africa''.

PRESIDENCY DENIES BUYING 200 VEHICLES FOR AFRICAN FIRST LADIES SUMMIT
The presidency has refuted claims that 200 vehicles were bought for the African first ladies peace mission summit. Dr Reuben Abati the Special adviser to the president on media and publicity released a statement denying the allegations '' the African first ladies peace mission ( AFLPM ) which is holding it's summit in Abuja is a non-governmental (NGO). Stakeholders and members of the private sector, who support and identify with it's objectives are funding it's activities. In accordance with it's modus operandi the AFLPM set up several committees, including a finance committee to raise funds and sponsorsip for the organisation of it's Abuja summit.
As part of it's contribution to the successful hosting of the summit Coscharis Motors offered to provide some cars for the event at no cost to organizers or the Federal government under the agreement signed by the committee and Coscharis, all the cars will be returned to the company after the summit''.
