SENATOR'S DAUGHTER RESCUED FROM KIDNAPPERS IN PORT-HARCOURT

The daughter of Senator Nimi Barigha Amange, Mrs Diepreye Dagi Darego reported kidnapped by gunmen yesterday on the Port-harcourt international airport road has been rescued.
The state commisioner of police Mr Mohammed Indabawa told journalists yesterday that Mrs Darego was abandoned by her captors following pressure mounted on them by a joint operation of the police and the military. He added that the victim was in good health and has since been re-united with her family members.

DAUGHTER OF FORMER SENATOR KIDNAPPED IN PORT-HARCOURT

Mrs Diepreye Dagi Darego, daughter of Senator Nimi Barigha-Amanghe was kidnapped in Port-Harcourt yesterday. The incident occurred around 9am on the Port-harcourt International airport road. The victim was on her way to the Airport to receive her sister who was arriving for her traditional wedding ceremony taking place in Bayelsa on Saturday. The former Senator revealed that the gunmen fired repeatedly at the car conveying his daughter before spiriting her away to an unknown destination. The distraught senator confirmed communication with the kidnappers ''The kidnappers have been communicating with my relatives, i am pleading with them to release my daughter unhurt''.
Senator Barigha-Amange represented Bayelsa East senatorial district in the National Assembly between 2007 and 2011.

POPULAR TV PRESENTER GAWAT FOUND

According to unconfirmed reports, Alhaji Razaq Aremu Gawat, the popular TV presenter of the Islamic programme ''e dide e ji sari'' has beeen found. He was reported missing after his car was found abandoned around Apongbon early wednesday morning with no signs of him. The Lagos state League of Imams conducted prayers at his residence yesterday for his safe return. He was allegedly found in Ibadan, today, no further details are available at present but he is said to have been found and is allegedly safe and sound.
