COLLEGE STUDENT SLUMPS AND DIES AFTER TWEETING

Arianne Noelle Patterson, a student at the Gardner Webb University, North carolina was bubbly and full of life, it was her birthday and she was in a thankful mood. The 21 year old suffered from Lupus, an auto immune disease and had good reason to tweet ''thank you God for another year of life''. A few hours after she tweeted those words she collapsed in a religion class and was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead. The cause of death was a heart attack caused by complications from systemic lupus erythematous which she was diagnosed of when she was just 9 years old.
Life is so unpredictable!

SEVEN CAMEROONIAN ATHLETES ABSCOND FROM OLYMPIC VILLAGE

7 Cameroonian athletes -Five boxers, a female footballer and a swimmer are suspected to have absconded from the Olympic village and are nowhere to be found.
David Ojong, the head of the Cameroonian mission commented on the disappearance ''what began as a rumour has finally turned out to be true. Seven Cameroonian athletes who participated in the London Olympic games have disappeared from the Olympic village''
Reserve goalkeeper Drusille Ngako was the first to disappear, a few days later swimmer Paul Ekane Edingue and his belongings also vanished. The five boxers eliminated from the boxing event Thomas Essomba, Christian Donfack Adjoufack, Abdon Mewoli, Blaise Yepmou Mendono and Serge Ambomo also disappeared into thin air on Sunday.

AJOKE ODUMOSU POWERS INTO FINALS OF OLYMPIC 400 METRE HURDLES

Nigeria's hopes for a medal at the Olympics just got a little brighter with 400 metre hurdler Muizat Ajoke Odumosu coasting into the finals of the Olympics 400 metre hurdles event in first place with a time of 54.40 seconds beating her personal best of 54.49 seconds. Georganne Moline of Great Britain came second.
 Defending champion Melaine Walker placed 6th in the semi-finals and will not be participating in the final event tomorrow.

GUNMEN KILL 16 IN DEEPER LIFE CHURCH IN KOGI STATE

A gang of gunmen invaded a Deeper life church bible church in Okene, Kogi state killing at least 16 worshippers and leaving many more critically injured.
The gunmen invaded the church while members were in the Monday evening bible study service, blocked all exits and rained a hale of bullets on the congregation.
The military task force commander in Kogi state Lt col Gabriel Olorunyomi confirmed that 16 people were killed in the attack although unofficial sources put the death toll at 20. The wounded were taken to Okene general hospital where about 15 of them are in critical condition.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

ODEON CINEMA RATES ''LAST FLIGHT TO ABUJA'' 4 OUT OF 5 STARS

The cast and crew of the movie ''last flight to Abuja'' have been rewarded for all the work put into the making of the acclaimed movie. The Odeon cinema in the U.K rated the movie four out of five stars, in their movie review. The movie starring Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Jim Iyke, Uru Eke, Hakeem Kae Kazeem and a host of others premiered at the Genesis cinema on August 3rd and is showing in Nigerian cinemas now.
