Former Managing director of the defunct Intercontinental bank, Mr Erastus Akingbola has been ordered by a UK high court to pay Access bank Plc (formerly intercontinental bank) 654 million pounds. The money, evidence revealed had been stolen directly from the bank during his tenure as managing director and used to buy property and pay off debts owed by his companies.
The judgement delivered by Tuesday by Justice Micheal Burton ruled that Mr Akingbola was liable to refund the money to Access bank.
