Laxmi sagara wed husband Rakesh when she was one and he was just three in the age old indian custom of infant child marriage. Fast forward seventeen years, Laxmi took her future into her own hands by daring tradition and annuling her marriage to Rakesh , her husband of seventeen years, what a laugh.
Manal Al Sharif started a campaign to challenge the saudi authorities on the ban on women driving.She posted a video of herself driving on you tube as part of the campaign for which she was detained and later released by the saudi authorities.On 23 of January 2012,Manal was mistakenly reported dead in a car crash in jeddah but is alive and well as confimed by CNN this April.
